In order to truly understand what a specific vehicle is all about, you must first take a look at the original, and see how it has grown into what it is today. First debuting in 2003 at the Frankfurt Motor show, the 2004 model of the Kia Picanto took the world by storm.
It was also referred to as the “Kia Morning”. Major changes were not made to the models external features until 2007 when the Picanto received a new bumper and a “tiger nose” front grille. In 2011, the second generation of the Kia Picanto was born. It was the first year that a 3-door version of the car hit the market, but only in Europe. In 2013, the Netherlands released a limited edition R-cross version into the second generation. They were a very rare version considering only 500 were ever produced. Their black body kit that wrapped around the wheel wells was what made them so unique.
These weren’t the only times that Kia made history with this model. They also released the first ever nail art animation promotional video to advertise for the model. They used 900 nails and 1200 bottles of nail polish to color the piece. It took 25 days just to put the set together, mostly because it took around 2 hours to paint each nail. The 900 painted nails created a picture of the Picanto in motion.
