Kia has completely redesigned their popular Optima for 2016. It may look like a simple refresh, but I assure you, there is more to it than that. With a strong suite of strong engine choices and a list of standard features and technology, the Optima is still a strong, stylish, value conscious choice in any trim.
The last major overhaul took place in 2010 and it really propelled the Optima to the top of the segment as one of the best looking sedans. Not that much has changed with the styling that continues to turn heads with a few exceptions. A flattened out grille that extends directly to the more sculpted headlights give it a wider and lower look than previous models. It also has a chrome line that extends from the mirrors to the trunk along the side of the car to give the profile a sleeker look.
As always, Kia was right on point with the interior. It has a combination of soft touch and high quality materials that make you feel like you bought a luxury car for an economy sedan price. The straight forward design makes you enjoy hours of driving. Even if you don’t spring for leather seats, the cloth doesn’t feel like a downgrade. The shifter is old school and the gauge cluster is impressive to say the least. It is one of the roomiest in the segment and gives drivers and passengers plenty of room to spare.
